HERE Seattle: Career Coach Connection w/ PayScale

Whether you’re looking for input on how to advance to the next level in your career or you need advice on how to ask for a raise, we’ve asked a group of career and negotiation coaches to provide their insights at a high level but also connect 1:1 with attendees to discuss their specific situations. We hope you’ll come away with tangible advice you can put into action to help you advance in your workplace.


5:30 p.m. Doors open
6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Panel (get to know the coaches and their various approaches to pay/career negotiations)
6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. 1:1 negotiation/career sessions with coaches & networking

Food and drinks will be provided.

Coach Bios

*Ashley Adair, CCP, PHR, SHRM-CP, Blue Shoes Leadership*
Ashley is the Founder of Blue Shoes Leadership LLC, a leadership development firm that specializes in building brave leaders and cultures by supporting first-time managers. With over ten years of experience in Human Resources and Consulting/Coaching, she is often described as a ‘builder’ and ‘pioneer’ by customers and clients. She firmly holds the belief that thriving humans lead to thriving business outcomes. Ashley is addicted to learning and has more letters after her name than in it. She continues this journey as an MBA Candidate at the University of Washington (Class of 2021). She earned her Bachelor’s from Cornish College of the Arts majoring in Theatre. She lives in Seattle, WA with her husband and three cats.

Keita is the Founder and Chief Strategist of Success Bully, a fast growing accountability practice and content provider dedicated to supporting visionaries of all types in their goal attainment across both their personal and professional lives.

*Aparna Rae, Future for Us*
Future For Us is an initiative to accelerate the advancement of women of color through community, culture and career development. Aparna is a frequent speaker on diversity and inclusion, negotiation and career advancement, with a special focus on women of color.

*Octavia Goredem*
Octavia Goredema is an award-winning career coach and writer. Over the past 8 years, Octavia has developed and delivered career advancement coaching for over 500 women.
In addition to writing career columns for national newspapers and magazines, Octavia is the founder of Twenty Ten Talent, a digital platform dedicated to helping black women accelerate their careers.
Originally from Britain, Octavia was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire by the Queen in 2012, in recognition of her work to support black women in business.

*Lydia Frank, PayScale*
For more than a decade, VP of Content Strategy Lydia Frank has led a team of content creators and researchers at PayScale, a compensation data and software company, who work to understand all of the various factors that impact compensation and provide guidance to both employees and employers on how to have more effective pay conversations that lead to more equitable outcomes. On the topics of salary negotiation, pay equity and compensation best practices, she is a frequent speaker, is regularly cited in the media and has contributed content to various publications (e.g. Harvard Business Review, Money, Fortune, TechCrunch.) She serves on the advisory board for Female Founders Alliance and is a strong advocate for creating more accessible paths to power for women, people of color and other underrepresented groups in the labor market and economy.
