Administrative assistants must be able to endure long periods of sitting, as they are usually seated at a desk for much of the day. A good administrative assistant is comfortable learning new skills and adapting to a wide variety of duties. Administrative assistants should be able to lift smaller loads of weight, because they may need to move boxes, files, and stacks of paper around the office. Multitasking and time management are essential skills, as many administrative assistants are required to be working on several projects at once.
