Demand planning managers are generally responsible for making predictions on the amount of merchandise needed for upcoming periods, buying only as much new merchandise as is necessary. They are also responsible for identifying sales trends based on seasons, promotions, and historical sales trends. Individuals with this job title are also often required to lead meetings for inventory and sales forecast personnel to discuss inventory and sales goals. Employees with this job title often work in an office setting and in backrooms, as this is mostly a position that requires inventory and sales analysis. They generally work full time during regular business hours.
