Cafeteria workers must be organized, pay close attention to detail, multitask with ease, and know how to operate registers and cafeteria equipment. They generally report their progress to their supervisor and participate in training tasks to increase efficiency and productivity. They should also be familiar with all proper food-handling techniques. A high school diploma is generally required for this position, and prior experience in a cafeteria setting is helpful.
