Job Description for Physiotherapist Assistant

A physiotherapist assistant helps the physiotherapist take care of patients who are injured, have certain diseases, and/or are older adults. The assistant helps administer physiotherapy programs for patients, including helping them carry out exercises included in their program. When the assistant sees issues with the program, they must make suggestions to the physiotherapist on potential modifications and help enact any changes. The ability to work on a team to help patients succeed is important for physiotherapist assistants, which includes the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of care professionals and patients.
