Throughout treatment, the care that is administered should be evaluated to determine if the treatment is working. It may also be necessary to work with the patient’s other health providers, in order to gather feedback and to determine what sort of care should be administered. In some cases, the psychiatrist may also recommend that the patient meets with a psychologist, so that counseling services can be provided. It is also important to keep a strong network of resources. A psychiatrist also helps to prevent mental disorders from occurring. This can be helpful, especially to people who have gone through traumatic events.
