One cannot simply apply to become a research associate without the proper experience; generally speaking, an advanced educational degree is normally required for one to be considered for such a position. Typically, a person who holds down this position will be doing extensive research for pharmaceutical companies, medical related companies, scientific labs, archeological excavations, various physiological studies, as well as numerous other areas where the expertise of critical research is needed. One of those places often comes via an extensive legal trial, as law firms will often seek the help of a research associate in order to help them with a difficult case. In other scenarios, major universities may hire a research associate on a temporary basis in order to help them complete a certain type of study. In these types of cases, research associates are counted on to give lectures to students as well. An individual works as a research associate usually will also be required to organize statistics, create scientific documents, as well as other similar tasks that involve a high degree of knowledge.
