Job Description for Security Officer/Guard

A security guard is tasked with patrolling a specific area and performing a wide variety of security-related tasks within that area. Some of their regular tasks include maintaining the security and safety of individuals on a property, maintaining the security and safety of the premises to which the guard is assigned, responding to threatening situations such as bomb threats, and responding to medical emergencies and maintaining supervision of the site during the emergency. They also respond to fire alarms and intrusion alarms, facilitate the performance of duties of emergency specialists who show up during an incident, and fill out paperwork related to the incidents the security guard encounters.

  • Guard and monitor premises to prevent theft, property destruction, violence or rules and safety violations.
