Job Description for Survey Technician

Survey technicians help map out areas of land for construction or other purposes. They use survey equipment and are required to travel to work sites as part of their daily jobs; they may also work closely with other survey personnel. These technicians must be able to understand and interpret site plans, including profiles and cross-sections. They also need to accurately record all data collected at work sites as well. However, some survey technicians spend most of their time in the office; the requirements for this particular type of survey technician can be different due to the need for a high level of proficiency with AutoCAD programs.
