Job Description for Warehouse Material Handler

A warehouse material handler is part of a team performing several functions necessary to maintain a well-organized warehouse. On the shipping side of warehouse operations, the material handler receives orders and uses a forklift to retrieve pallets for order fulfillment. After the pallet is retrieved, the material handler places it in a shipping area so it can be loaded onto a truck for shipment. Then, the material handler updates the company system to indicate that the shipment is in progress.

  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies and adjust errors.
  • Receive, store, move and pack outgoing materials, equipment, and other items from warehouse.
