Job Description for Denturist

A denturist - sometimes called a dental prosthetist or clinical dental technician, is an oral health care professional who performs a wide range of duties related to oral prosthesis. First, denturists complete an assessment of patients' needs related to oral prosthesis and discuss these patients' options; this includes reviewing the patients' dental and medical records to make an informed assessment. Then, they design and create removable oral prosthesis, which can include taking impressions of oral tissue; they also perform repairs and realignments as needed. Denturists may provide patients with complete or partial sets of dentures, as well as mouth or night guards, dentures over implants, and whitening or cleaning of existing dentures. They may also conduct regular checkups of patients' dentures to ensure proper function and fit.
