Estheticians have extensive knowledge in skin care and work closely with those who want to improve their overall appearance. Most estheticians focus on the face, although they often perform services for the rest of the body such as body wraps, hydration and aromatherapy. Day spas, salons and cosmetic stores may provide services that include eyebrow tweezing, waxing, facial massages and eyelash extensions, all of which are done by an esthetician. Estheticians may also refer clients to dermatologists if needed.Additionally, some estheticians work for medical dermatologists who handle skin-related issues such as acne and hyperpigmentation.
