Job Description for Metal Fabricator

Metal fabricators are responsible for conducting fabrication work for their facilities, as well as maintaining equipment, keeping work areas clean, and ensuring that safety standards are met at all times. Basic daily duties include positioning and fitting parts to weld, reading blueprints to fabricate parts accurately, performing welds, and operating other fabrication equipment. These tools used by metal fabricators include grinders, drill presses, plasma cutters, shears, flame cutters, and others. This position may include some supervisory work at the highest levels, and supervisors need to train other employees on employers' standards and ensure quality levels are high and consistent.
