A project control officer in an information technology (IT) department fulfills focuses on the security and quality elements of our company’s networks. This job can also involve thinking outside the box when it comes to promoting general network reliability, security, and risk management. This officer can occasionally be asked to do tasks that can be frustrating, such as evaluating code for security issues, training a new employee on the proper protocol for remaining compliance, doing data entry, or filing.
A project control officer usually has a bachelor’s degree in computer science, network security or a related field. This job also often requires extensive knowledge of network security protocols and related experience. He or she will be required to interact with both customers and other supervisory positions within the company, so people skills are a must.
