Software Engineer Reviews

What is it like working as a Software Engineer?

February 2019
Great place to work.
Software Engineer in Madison:
Pros: Freedom to work when and where I want to - telecommuting is encouraged.
Cons: Sometimes being a team player means my ideas are overlooked.

Relaxed.
Software Engineer in Cebu City:
Pros: Balanced
Cons: Skill growth and salary

Phenomenal Company, Fantastic Leadership.
Software Engineer in Centurion:
Pros: The open social paradigm to keep everyone on their toes and happy. The drive to improve on a daily basis and give your best with your designated team
Cons: The contract I am assigned to and where I spend everyday working is the complete opposite from Entelect

Overtime alert.
Software Engineer in Lévis:
Prepare to do some overtime, if you do your job properly and a lot of it, if you don't. Unless you won't be long lasting.
February 2019
Software Engineer:
Pros: Good starting pay, especially for less experienced devs. Willing to let you learn and grow. Cons: so-so benefits, pay raises and promotions are slow to come by. Your experience is largely determined by where you're located -- if you're in a big city or headquarters, you'll have access to great training opportunities and support, and probably much faster advancement. If you're working pretty much anywhere else, it's difficult not to feel like a second class citizen, like you've been forgotten.

Very political.
Software Engineer in San Francisco:
Pros: My manager is great, he genuinely cares about the team and getting work done.
Cons: Communication is poor on all levels. Higher management does not properly communicate with teams, and my team does not properly or efficiently communicate with one another. There is a lot of red tape, and a lot of down time because the projects keep changing. Our work feels under appreciated and unimportant.

Great Pay/Job/Company. Bad work/like balance.
Software Engineer in Minneapolis:
Pros: Pay
Cons: Work life balance isn't even a metric here, seriously. They say if you have a problem to bring it up with your manager. You better really like your job because you're gonna be doing it 50-65 hours a week. Some people get lucky and have normal positions, but I'd say 33% have it rough.
