Support Technician, Information Technology (IT) in Denton:
Pros: What I like most about my current position is having the ability to cross train and learn new skills on the job. I work in a small 14 employee IT department that provides IT services to a corporate office and 76 nursing home facilities. Since we do not outsource and only use contractors for on site cable runs / smart hands, I have the opportunity to learn and troubleshoot a wide variety of IT related issues.
Cons: Our current IT department is managed very loosely. There is not a lot of oversight which leads to most employees taking advantage of the situation and underproducing at work. This creates a somewhat stressful working environment at times because we are an un-organized and often un-prepared for problems that arise.
