Since the associate director of sales and marketing plays several roles, they must be able to multitask and coordinate multiple teams at the same time; they must also possess strong time management skills to meet organizational deadlines. The associate director of sales and marketing must be able to communicate effectively and have creativity to identify sales trends and build marketing campaigns. They should also know how to evaluate ongoing sales and marketing programs, as well as be able to revise those programs when necessary. These directors usually work full time in an office setting and answer to a principal director of sales and marketing. Overtime may be required as deadline approach, and travel may be necessary.
