Electronics engineering is studied at the post-secondary educational level at colleges and universities. An undergraduate engineering degree is required of most, if not all, working engineers, as is a certification from the American Association of Engineers. Applicants for certification may apply once they have completed undergraduate education. They are expected to satisfactorily complete additional courses and examination before certification, and the Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation, is conferred.
Once prepared for the job market, electrical engineers are free to pursue many different positions to suit their specific talents. These include, but are not limited to, sales and service of electronic equipment, research and development, communication networking, and design.
