Equity traders' primary responsibilities include exchange stocks or bonds into cash or to acquire other equities, as indicated by their company or customers. Equity traders also strive to reduce transaction costs and increase company recognition. Additionally, they manage orders and trade flow based on importance rating, as well as timing during trading hours. In addition, one of their main duties is providing investment teams with financial intelligence and expert advice as required. They strive to develop strong business relationships to increase company profitability and loyalty. Equity traders must follow trading and privacy regulations at all times.
