A control or automation engineer generally works full time during regular business hours, although overtime may be required depending on the needs of the company and its projects. There is a possibility of travel depending on the company or projects as well.
In most cases, a control or automation engineer must have at least a bachelor's degree in a related field, although a master's degree may be preferred. Normally, at least five years of relevant experience is needed as well. Control or automation engineers should have strong computer and communication skills are needed.
