A data modeler is a specialize analyst who takes large chunks of data and attempts to pull useful information out of it. The modeler then uses this information to create detailed data reports for businesses and clients. These reports outline the findings and provide actionable analysis based upon macro and micro trends the modeler has discovered. A data modeler's job is part information science and part statistical analysis. The modeler must be sharp at both of these aspects of the position to succeed.
