Job Description for Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Junior Tester
Software quality assurance (SQA) junior testers identify bugs and other problems in software, and their work revolves around debugging them and developing improvements. These testers carry out multiple tests on different operating systems to ensure that the software works in a variety of situations. Manual testing will also be necessary in some situations, as well as creating automation scripts that can detect bugs so that testing can be more accurate and time-efficient.Read More...
This is an entry-level position, so experience within the field may not be necessary. In addition to solving/fixing problems, these testers may also make improvements in order to make software more friendly for end users. This may involve using general consumers as beta-testers for software and working to solve any issues they encounter during testing. A degree in computer science or a related field may be required, and recent graduates are usually welcomed, as this is a junior position. Knowledge of programming languages and software development tools, and the ability to apply them, are absolutely necessary in order to carry out most tasks.
Fluency in some of the programs may be necessary depending on the company. Some basic skills to have include C++, Java, SQL, and knowledge of the software-development life cycle.
