Job Description for Cameraman

A cameraman is also called a camera operator. This person is generally responsible for recording various occurrences with a video camera for television programs or movie productions. This person can work with digital, electronic, or film cameras in a variety of environments. Sometimes this is within a studio, and sometimes in an outdoors environment, depending on the needs of their program. This is a position that will work with a team of other crew people under the supervision of a director.
