Job Description for Chemical Analyst

A chemical analyst works on an analysis and research team in a company to gather and analyze chemical samples. This may involve manipulating materials so that they can be objectively analyzed. Often, the chemical analyst will sample their company's products to make sure that they adhere to certain standards (including those related to quality). A chemical analyst uses instruments to obtain samples and keep these instruments in working order. Additionally, the chemical analyst evaluates current techniques for obtaining samples and make suggestions to managers on how they should be improved. When the analyst encounters problems, they must be able to perform troubleshooting effectively and efficiently.
