Job Description for Clinical Research Director

A clinical research director oversees all clinical research within their organization. They perform a number of tasks, such as overseeing all research staff, developing and enforcing standards related to safety and quality, providing guidance for day-to-day research activities, and communicating with other teams within the organization as necessary. The clinical research director must have a high level of knowledge in their respective field to effectively lead and communicate with members of the research staff; however, they should also be able to effectively communicate with non-technical personnel within their organization. The director must enforce all organizational rules and ensure staff members adhere to scientific best practices and ethical standards; they also oversee the quality of work, making sure it is accurate and up to organizational standards.
