Job Description for First-Line Supervisor / Manager of Construction Trades and Extraction Workers

First-line supervisors/managers of construction trades and extraction workers oversee the work of relevant employees within their company. While at times this individual work alongside the other workers, the supervisor/manager is also responsible for a number of managerial tasks such as employee supervision, guidance, and scheduling. The manager/supervisor must ensure safety standards are followed at all times and provide discipline to employees as necessary. It is essential that managers/supervisors are able to assess the work of others and coach them toward improved output. While not usually involved in the hiring of workers, the manager assigns work to subordinates and evaluates them while accomplishing the goals set by their own supervisor.
