Job Description for Metallurgist - Process

Metallurgy is the process by which different metals are combined into alloys and then used to create materials for use by others or used to create end products themselves. A metallurgist - process is a person who acts as something of a troubleshooter and problem-solver for this process, usually at a fabrication plant. The process metallurgist works to help continually reduce the amount of metal material that fails to meet quality control standards. He or she also is constantly involved in examining all aspects of the plant and creates systems to try to add efficiency to the manufacturing processes.
