Production manufacturing technicians are responsible for performing many production-centered processes. Most production manufacturing technicians are tasked with preparing, monitoring, and operating the equipment associated with the products being manufactured. Production manufacturing technicians must be comfortable doing repetitive tasks and maintaining quality inspections on their products, as well as reporting any problems or concerns to their immediate supervisor in a timely manner. Much of the production manufacturing technician's work of is done without direct supervision. These technicians typically work eight- to twelve-hour shifts, depending on the company. They must be self-motivated and meet all quality standards set forth by their supervisors. They must also work well with other team members with the goal of completing production targets in a timely manner while maintaining the highest product integrity.
Previous experience in production manufacturing is helpful. A working knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word is valuable, as are the ability to read and write well and keep excellent records.
