A supply chain specialist ensures that supplies and inventory are ordered, received, replenished, and kept at appropriate levels so the business could function properly. They are a main point of contact for suppliers, and they make sure any questions by members on their organization on those suppliers are dealt with in an effective and timely manner. The supply chain specialist also must ensure that accurate records of supplies and inventory levels are maintained, and they must analyze data around the use or depletion of these resources over time. These specialists must make sure that the company never has a deficit or an excess surplus of supplies and inventory.
