3M Company Reviews

What is it like working at 3M Company?

Good Work Life Balance.
Senior Software Engineer in Salt Lake City:
Pros: Telecommuting, Paid Time Off, Parental Leave
Cons: They are very stingy with pay raises
Soul Crushing Environment.
Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) in Austin:
Pros: Meaningful work, smart, competent coworkers.
Cons: Management is non-technical and doesn't understand the work they oversee. They are completely clueless to what is happening in the trenches and rule fear and intimidation. Forced to work unpaid/unrewarded overtime because you are salaried. 3M is ruled by its bean counters that respond to every hiccup on Wall Street by laying off contractors, "restructuring", forcing employees to take vacation leave so it's "not on the books”. Vacation leave cannot be carried over even if forced to work during planned, approved vacation leave during the previous year.
Overall good compensation package.
Senior SAP Consultant in Taguig City:
Pros: Employee recognition
Cons: Feeling sometime of not knowing what to do due to limited information available related to job at disposal
Leader without Authority, Mother may I??
Director of Program Management in San Antonio:
Pros: work flexibility and Employee resource groups
Cons: no one can make a decision unless it goes through leadership. team autonomy and phycological safety are spouted but do not exist.
Pros and Cons.
Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) in Austin:
Pros: Intelligent, competent, ethical, reliable coworkers.
Cons: Nontechnical upper level management results in technical teams being tasked to work 16 hour days to meet unrealistic deadlines.
Too comfortable, little room for growth.
Manufacturing Engineer in Chicago:
Pros: Work life balance
Cons: Political atmosphere, very few opportunities for career growth
Fast paced.
Supply Chain Analyst in New Ulm:
Pros: Using my analytic skills.
Cons: Balance of workload within my workgroup.
