For those who claim five to nine years of work experience, pay on average amounts to approximately $15.96 per hour. The largest fraction of FedEx Ground people (60 percent) have been working for one to four years and earn $13.21 per hour on average.
Bringing in the most money are Operations Managers — their earnings average about $20.40 per hour. Maintenance Technicians are a close second at $19.89 along with Office Administrators ($15.86) and Route Drivers (around $14.83). FedEx Ground hands out some of the smallest paychecks to Package Handlers ($12.01 on average).
When it comes to location, the highest average paycheck ($21.28 per hour) can be spotted in Fort Worth, Texas; Columbus, Ohio (about $17.69), Orlando, Fla. ($16.00), and Memphis, Tenn. (around $15.33) are the next top-paying cities. At approximately $13.39, Sacramento, Calif. is home to some of the lowest pay in the country. By state, the highest compensation levels appear in Pennsylvania, where the average salary is around $14.74 per hour.
Certifications and Degrees
OSHA 10 Hour Specialists earn about $23.48 per hour, far more than their non-accredited counterparts. At FedEx Ground, employees who hold an Associate of Arts (AA) receive the highest pay at $19.00.
Employees who count Operations Management among their skills enjoy higher pay; the median for this group is $20.30 per hour. Customer Service is considered a run-of-the-mill skill; just under one in four of FedEx Ground's people use it regularly. Many workers are also familiar with Sorting, Packaging, and Microsoft Office.
Benefits and Perks
Only a third of workers at FedEx Ground enjoy paid vacation time, and just one in eight workers can take sick leave.
