Breckenridge is a village in Gratiot County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,328 at the 2010 census. The village is located in Wheeler Township. Breckenridge was founded in 1872 when the Pere Marquette Railroad came through the area. It was incorporated as a village in 1908. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.07 square miles (2.77 km2), all land. 2010 census As of the census of 2010, there were 1,328 people, 535 households, and 349 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,241.1 inhabitants per square mile (479.2/km2). There were 595 housing units at an average density of 556.1 per square mile (214.7/km2).
