If a violation occurs, the environmental specialist must perform follow-up interviews and studies to ensure that the offending party corrects the situation and assess the effects on the environment. The environmental specialist must pay attention to detail and be well organized, as they are in charge of keeping inspection logs and submitting summaries of their inspection logs; these skills are also important for keeping accurate inventory records for hazardous materials and chemicals.
