A hospice aide is a healthcare professional who provides personal care within a hospice type of environment. This is a position which can be full-time or part- time. The hours sometimes involve overnight stays, as work within hospice is nonstop. This person will work in conjunction with other hospice aides or nurses while providing comfort care. The formal education requirements for a hospice aide will be dependent on the facility or organization. Typically, a certified nursing assistant designation is required, as well as various schooling and certifications.
