Operations Manager Reviews
What is it like working as an Operations Manager?
February 2017
Love the cost of living and lots of options for things to do.
Operations Manager in Tampa:
Pros: Food and city culture.
Cons: Traffic.
February 2017
Texas is great; Austin is expensive.
Operations Manager in Austin:
Pros: Access to great food; casual energy; focus on wellness.
Cons: Traffic is an absolute nightmare, and the cost of living in the city limits is ridiculous.
January 2017
Vibrant City.
Operations Manager in Seattle:
Pros: Seattle has great educational and cultural arts resources. Location is excellent. Great restaurants. Good public transportation.
Cons: Traffic is miserable. Housing is expensive. The weather can be unpleasant.
January 2017
Responsibilities.
Operations Manager in Fort Wayne:
Hold your ground and don't allow your employees or customers decide what the company will accept. Fully understand the mechanical functions of an engine and don't rely on BS'ing your way through.
January 2017
The drive to work is very short.
Operations Manager in Madison:
Pros: Freedom to make decisions.
Cons: Small town, very few suppliers.
January 2017
Cost of living.
Operations Manager in Milwaukee:
Pros: Its pretty cheap compared to other cities and the people are nicer here thn many mother cities I have visited.
Cons: Not much to do, very basic city that mostly is for people who work and go to school.
January 2017
Under appreciated, over worked.
Operations Manager in Charlottesville:
Pros: The flexible hours are generally a plus, if you can actually get the hours. There is a level of autonomy that I like as well.
Cons: I do the job of a hiring manager, social media manager and SEO, kitchen manager, human resources officer, front of house manager, customer service manager, catering and party manager, yet I am only paid for a shift manager. Hours are few and far between and have drastically decreased since the general manager decided (without the input of the two current managers) to promote three more managers. There is a complete lack of communication leading to a lot of stress on my part.
