Job Description for Petrophysicist

A petrophyicist is a key cog is the modern oil and gas industry. This person is responsible for analyzing rock properties, as well as chemical and physical evidence of reserves of oil and natural gas. Using that data, they establish models of underground formations. They then coordinate with teams and companies that are searching for new places to drill for energy sources. They are also responsible for updating these models at intervals once they have gathered new evidence. As a petrophysicist, you will lead your own team, and you will be expected to keep your whole team apprised of your findings and where you plan on going next. You will also be expected to confer with other petrophysical teams.
