What is it like working as a Registered Occupational Therapist?

You are valuable but your credentials are more so.
Registered Occupational Therapist:
1) Negotiate a solid rate, then, ask that they pay for your license renewal, CEU's, uniforms, cell phone, etc., in addition to 100% employer-paid health insurance and always ask for more PTO. 2) If you realize you know more than your employer, find a new employer or go out on your own. 3) If a company has a bad rep, your employment there won't held bring it up; it will, however, bring yours down! 4) Network w/ other therapists. 5) Be on someone's prn list at all times-whether you accept the work or not. That way if your FT job goes south, you have a life line!

Registered Occupational Therapist:
Pros: Work Flexibility. Ability to work from home.
Cons: Stress (have to meet deadlines) No set work hours, thus you end up working most of the day.
