Like many retail positions, a retail sales operations assistant must know how to handle inventory and run a cash register. They should always be able to locate and restock items if they are missing and answer customers' questions about inventory, price, and how items work.
While the majority of their time will be spent on the day-to-day operations of the store, such as reordering inventory and addressing the concerns of both upper-level management and lower-level employees, they may also run the cash register either has a regular duty or only during busy times or when the store is understaffed.
