What is it like working as a Retail Store Manager?

You basically have to live at the store inorder for work to get done, they don't give enough payroll inorder to complete the mountains of work they put on each store allow for more than 4-6 people total.

Pros: The customers, everyone from the community that shops there daily are the only rays of sunshine about working for dollar general Corporation
Cons: The company puts the workload of 4 people on one person with the expectation the tasks get done in only a few hours, while there's not enough payroll for a second person so everything is on that one employee, who 9 times out of 10 is the SM because sadly we are salary

Working at the shop is wonderful, I love it. Senior Manager Team not so much.

No transparency/Poor to no communications from regional manager.

Cons: Almost everything. I was blindsided by alot of things including my pay. I am salaried at 60k a year and work 40 plus hours a week and everytime I get my pay stub it states 6 dollars less than what I'm supposed to be earning as a salaried employee. It says $22.46
