A school secretary should be able to initiate and respond to emails; prepare letters, reports, and other documents; maintain student records; and order school supplies. A school secretary should have the ability to handle petty cash, track accounts payable and receivable, and work with invoices. A school secretary must have the flexibility to manage a variety of tasks and prioritize them appropriately and function as part of a larger team.
Qualifications to work as a school secretary may vary widely depending on the educational institution, but generally a minimum of a high school diploma is required.
