Job Description for Senior Product Engineer

Senior product engineers are responsible for all aspects of the design, implementation, and management of new products' development. This involves taking customer needs and expectations, merging those with their design knowledge, and planning a new engineering product. Once a design has been established and all necessary consultation with clients and other engineers has occurred, the manufacturing process must be designed and implemented. After manufacturing, the final product must be assembled and analyzed for quality and to ensure it meets all user and design specifications. Senior product engineers are ultimately responsible for all stages of this work and monitor closely all progress. Once a product is completed, they must maintain standards by testing and constructing prototypes for further improvements as driven by customer needs or evolutions in industry standards and technology.
