Staff geologists support geological projects for their organization. They are responsible for examining conditions in the environment, creating environmental reports that will help ongoing research, providing oral and written geological expertise, and developing and designing methodologies to help improve existing procedures related to data collection. Staff geologists perform physical tasks related to fieldwork, as well as work with a consulting team to collect and output data for their employer.
