Financial compensation is highest for Pitt grads with a B.A. in Political Science (PolySci) (average earnings climb to $166K per year). A Bachelor's Degree, Business Administration commands less pay, and these degree-holders face median pay of $52K.


Former Panthers with Project Management experience garner salaries that are 32 percent more than other grads' salaries. Proficiency in Project Management is common among Pitt alumni, and when it comes to using it on the job, just under one-fifth of former students report doing so. Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Data Analysis is highly valued as well.

Benefits and Perks

Roughly half of the survey participants can rely on paid vacation days, but just one-fourth of alumni have the luxury of paid sick time. Nearly all former students allocate some part of their earnings to a company-sponsored 401(k) savings plan. Nearly all alums receive health insurance, and a large number of respondents get dental coverage. University of Pittsburgh graduates also take advantage of life insurance, a casual working environment, tuition reimbursement, and flexible hours.
