
Mike Metzger
Chief Executive Officer and President
Mike joined PayScale in 2004 as the chief executive officer. Previously, he was the CEO and president of Performant, managing all aspects of building and running the company, which was sold to Mercury Interactive. Prior to his work at Performant, Mike served as vice president of Product and Services for WRQ where he co-authored the strategic plan and vision for the company. Mike also spent time at RealNetworks where he directed software product marketing efforts, started the Real Broadcast Network, managed the product marketing for successful launches of RealAudio 3.0 and 4.0, and led the creation and development of an ASP stream hosting business for RealNetworks, which led to more than $3 million in revenue in the first full year. Earlier in his career, he held various positions at Microsoft, including international product manager, lead product manager for MS Works and group manager for Consumer Marketing. Mike holds an MBA in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University.

Dave Smith
Chief Revenue Officer
Dave joined PayScale in 2009. He has over 15 years of business development, sales and product marketing experience with a number of successful, venture-backed startups. Prior to PayScale, Dave held several executive positions at CareerBuilder, including the launch of CareerBuilder UK Ltd. in 2005, as managing director. Under Dave's leadership, CareerBuilder UK's unique visitors grew to more than 1.4 million per month while revenue, on a run-rate basis, grew to more than $5 million in less than 3 years. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Oregon and an MBA from Portland State University.

Barnaby Dorfman
Senior Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Business
Barnaby joined PayScale in 2012. He is responsible for the Marketing and Product teams, including ongoing development of the company's Consumer website. Barnaby previously spent seven years at Amazon.com, where he created IMDbPro.com and was a vice president in the Search Technology group. Additionally, Barnaby launched Foodista.com, an online cooking encyclopedia and food news source. He is a graduate of San Francisco State University and received his MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

Joe Giordano
Founder and Advisor
Joe founded PayScale in 2000, with 20 years of experience in designing technology and managing its development. Prior to establishing PayScale, Joe served as director of program management at drugstore.com where he led website development and helped to rapidly grow the company from inception into the leading online drugstore. Earlier in his career, he served as director of product development at InfoGear Technology Corporation (acquired by Cisco) where he led project design and development for the iPhone Internet appliance, which won various industry awards such as Internet World's "Best of Show" and was awarded a U.S. patent for user interface design. A Microsoft veteran, Joe also led the design and the development of initial versions of the award-winning Microsoft Works product during the 1990s, and he later became the program management lead for the original version of MSN, Microsoft's first online endeavor. He holds various user interface and technology design patents and serves on the board of advisors for several other Internet companies. Joe has a graduate degree in music composition from Whitman College.

Rob Jasper
Vice President of Data & Platform Technology
Rob joined PayScale in 2012. He oversees the data, analytics, software and IT infrastructure needed to power the PayScale B2B and Consumer applications. Rob brings more than 25 years of software engineering and executive management experience in both small venture-backed startups and public companies. Previous to joining PayScale, he served as chief technology officer of analytics software provider Intelligent Results, which was acquired by First Data in 2007. At First Data, Rob served as vice president of engineering for Information Services and CTO of the Analytics Center of Excellence where he oversaw engineering for more than 20 products in the areas of fraud, risk, analytics, and data services. Earlier in his career, Rob was a researcher at Boeing and an adjunct faculty member at Seattle University. He received a master's degree in software engineering from Seattle University.

Stacey Klimek
Controller
Stacey joined PayScale in 2009. Previously, she was chief financial officer at Redhawk Group, a general contractor specializing in retail and power centers, mixed use, and office and renovation projects. Stacey possesses over 25 years of executive, financial, and administrative experience inside fast-growth enterprises. Earlier in her career, Stacey held executive positions with NetMotion Wireless where she helped the company through a successful acquisition with Padcom Inc. Previously, Stacey managed accounting and finance for Captura Software prior to its merger with Concur Technologies.

Tim Low
Vice President of B2B Marketing
Tim joined PayScale in 2011 to spearhead demand generation, product marketing, branding and go-to-market for the company's on-demand software products for job pricing and compensation planning. He brings significant experience in both enterprise software and cloud-based applications. Tim was previously an executive at Daptiv and at Niku where he was part of the management team that took the company public. He has held product management roles at both Microsoft and Oracle. Tim is co-founder and a member of the board of advisors of social analytics platform NorthbyNine and is a graduate of Marquette University.

Gwen Sheridan
Vice President of Account Management & Customer Service
Gwen joined PayScale in 2007 to launch the Account Management and Customer Service functions. She and her team help thousands of HR and business leaders manage their compensation strategies efficiently and effectively. Prior to joining PayScale, she spent more than a decade at the Corporate Executive Board in a variety of roles. She served as the senior director of Member Services for the Finance Practice, overseeing $85 million in annual contract value and more than 2,300 memberships. Prior to her work leading service and renewal efforts for the Finance Practice, Gwen acted as practice manager for the Corporate Leadership Council, directing practice research for more than 1,000 chief human resource officers and their staffs. She also served as chief of staff to the chairman and CEO of the Corporate Executive Board. Gwen graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University and also holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, where she was an Austin Scholar. She serves on the board of Page Ahead, a non-profit organization that provides new books for children, literacy support for families, and reading resources for communities.
