Arts, Entertainment & Recreation Industry Pay Trends

Updated April 5, 2012
2012: After a strong rise in the latter half of 2011, wages for workers in the arts and entertainment industry dipped in Q1 2012, falling almost 1 percent from the previous quarter. This downward movement slowed the climb to previous peak wage levels for this industry.

2007-2011: Wage trends in the arts and entertainment industry kept pace with the national average for most of 2007 and 2008, but overall were more sluggish than wages in other industries through 2010.

Despite a worrisome drop in mid-2011, wages in the arts and entertainment industry finished the year up more than 1 percent year-over-year and within 1 percent of their 2008 peak.
