Respondents who have been working for five to nine years make about $8.29 per hour on average. When we consider tenure, a substantial portion of employees (54 percent) have been working for one to four years and make $8.44 per hour on average.
Earning around $10.74 per hour on average, Restaurant Assistant Managers receive the most money, followed by Restaurant Managers ($9.76), Assistant Fast Food Managers ($9.50), and Porters (approximately $8.21). Checkers hands out some of the smallest paychecks to Fast Food Workers (around $8.18 on average).
U.S. pay levels are highest in the state of Michigan; pay there average to approximately $10.50 per hour.
Certifications and Degrees
Servsafe food manager certifications earn about $10.96 per hour, far more than their non-accredited counterparts.
When it comes to skills, employees who report People Management among their abilities seem to make the most, reporting a median income of $10.51 per hour. A common skill in Checkers' work force is Customer Service; almost all of survey participants report using it on the job. Food Preparation, Training, and Customer Relations round out the set of key employee skills.
