Job Description for Animal Behaviorist

Animal behaviorists are employed primarily by veterinarians, laboratories, animal shelters, pet stores, zoos, and other institutions, while some operate their own businesses. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is generally required for this position, and some employers require that animal behaviorists have Laboratory Animal Behavior Certification or Associate Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (ACAAB) certification. Some employers also require prior commensurate experience.
