Job Description for Fish and Game Warden

A fish and game warden is a specialized law enforcement employee who works to ensure the safety and soundness of the natural environment and people within it. The warden inspects fishing and hunting permits and enforces season restrictions on these activities. He or she also can cite any hunters or fishers for unsafe conduct, as well as inspect all yields from hunting and fishing to ensure that legal limits are observed. Fish and game wardens can be found in wildlife areas, designated nature preserves, and popular hunting and fishing areas.
