Analytical skills, project management skills, strong communication skills, and close attention to detail are required for the position. SAP testing analysts are also required to generate reports and make presentations to team members and/or upper management, so strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) are required.
SAP testing analysts must be "team players" who are able to work well with others, and flexibility is very important, as they may be required to work overtime to meet deadlines; some organizations may even employ them for more than one regular shift. These analysts are generally involved in providing estimates for test resources, i.e. man-hours needed for various projects, and setting estimated completion dates. They usually work in an office environment, but also travel to other offices of their organizations. On-the-job training is often provided, and more senior SAP testing analysts are required to coach and train new employees.
