Job Description for Supportive Residential Counselor

A supportive residential counselor works in a live-in facility to provide counseling services to residents. This may be - for example - a facility for adults with addictions, people with disabilities, the elderly, youth in summer camps, or troubled youth, among others. The supportive residential counselor acts as a role model and offers their support to help clients gain independence and function normally in society. This type of counselor may also help clients develop life and behavior skills.
